Animal Health Products
Powered by Gelteq® Technology
Gelteq® technology for veterinary applications improves ease of dosing and voluntary compliance with improved bioavailability for complex formulations. Gelteq develops novel delivery formulations for the oral delivery of small molecules and peptides as an animal food topper, in dial-a-dose syringe, or as a readily consumed standalone supplement. The gels are adaptable to large doses and variable chemistry including water soluble, solid dispersions, stabilised emulsions, and peptides.
Gelteq® technology is suitable for veterinary applications, addressing palatability and administration challenges across companion and large animals.
A daily oral medication or supplement for companion and working animals can be difficult to build into a daily routine. Unlike dosing human medication, an animal cannot understand that the dose is supporting their wellbeing and veterinary medication adherence can become a stressful scheduling issue for the animal’s carer.

Containing unpleasant actives in a gel dose form reduces volatility and mobility to reduce the vomeronasal and taste response and enables dose dilution to reduce rejection.
Enhanced absorption
Predispersion reduces flushing and allows a larger physical surface area for more efficient absorption across chemistries.
Reduced exposure to gastrointestinal degradation
The gel matrix provides protection to sensitive agents prior to their release into the GI.
A palatability trial using a Gelteq® technology food topper with Kemin Industries palatants showed excellent acceptance of the gel across first approach, first choice and total food consumed when compared to the same food without the gel.
